Stained-glass-style crossesSt. Philip Neri offers a complete program for faith formation for all ages. During the school year, the program includes a monthly pot luck, after which kindergarten through 12th grade students have classroom instruction, while adults hear a lecture given by Fr. Bill or another presenter. The dates for these pot lucks are given to those in attendance but will also be posted in advance on this page. In addition, K-6 students are given assignments from the Faith First textbooks, furnished free of charge by the parish, while junior- and senior-highschoolers use the Spirit series of booklets to reflect on the Sunday readings.

St. Philip Neri is part of the Diocese of Gaylord, which uses Restored Order. Students receive the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion in one liturgy. This typically takes place at the end of the second grade school year. The education program continues through elementary, junior high and high school as students learn about the sacraments, the history of the church, and enrich and deepen their faith. Students are taught by volunteer catechists from among the parishioners.

Pot luckIn addition, St. Philip Neri offers adult faith formation classes for adults from outside the church who are interested in becoming Catholic. The classes meet at the mutual convenience of the students and the instructor.

Classes are also held for adults who wish to deepen their understanding of our faith. These classes are led by various staff members and church leaders, including the priests, deacons, DRE, and others. Rosemary Friend facilitates Sunday by Sunday, a lectionary-based study of the upcoming weekend readings, Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Throughout the year, Deacon Max Wendell and others present book discussion groups and lead discussion on various Catholic books and topics.

We are always looking for others to step forward and give of their time and talent. If you have any questions about the program or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact the faith formation office at 326-5888 or faithformation[at]stphilipneriempire.com.
